 The
olmec site of Las Choapas, 94 km away from Acayucan, keeps singulars
discoveries of the antique Mesoamerican culture. This place is today an
important region of agriculturist, cattle raising, commercial and
industrial development, that covers a crescent importance, beginning for
the oil wells exploitation, in 1930, acquiring the village the rank of
city in 1967.
Of warm and humid weather, spreader by the rivers
Pedregal, Tonal and Nanchital, with an average year temperature of 27 °C,
this territory represents failure topography and a singular variety of
flora and fauna typical of the rainforest.
