Chetumal
 

Chetumal is the capital City of the State of Quintana Roo, is situated in the southern part of Mexico, 414 km from Merida via highway 184.

The climate in Chetumal is a tropical one and is ideal for a stroll along the Costero Boulevard where you will find beautiful Romantic English-style homes constructed with fancy wood which contrast with the modern buildings.

The main attractions you can find in Chetumal are:

  • The Botanical Zoo

  • The Government Palace, where you will find murals which are well worth your visit

Not far from Chetumal city at 31 km and 21 km respectively, are the "El Palmar" and "Punta Lagartos" Spas with crystalline waters and palm trees.

Also visit the Guerrero Lagoon (salt water), located 7 km away from Chetumal with its tropical vegetation and palm trees and connected to the Bay of Chetumal and the Lagoon of Bacalar.
