Cabañas El Muñeco

We are located in the community of Tlatempa.
Its name is formed by the following words:
Tlalli: land, Tentli; edge, Pan: in.

Therefore Tlatempa means: On the Edge of the Land. It is nowadays known as “Goldfinch Cliff”, with an approximate depth of 1000 mts

This community is part of the city of Zacatlan de las Manzanas, located in the Northern Mountain Range of the State of Puebla, approximately 2.5 hours from the City of Puebla de los Angeles. Most of the people who live in this community work in corn, onion, tomato, prunes, apples, pears and quince plantations; breeding sheep, bull calves, goats and cows.

Cabañas el Muñeco

The name “El Muñeco” (The Doll) is due to the fact that more than 50 years ago, Mr. Lucio Trejo Solis built a doll with sewerage pipes and iron on a septic tank. At the beginning the place was a pig farm, known as "Santa Lucina", (the owner's mother), but everybody referred to the place as "The Doll's Farm". After that it was called The Doll Ranch, with some other changes afterwards.

Some time later, when it was planned to offer a hotel service, in this warm and comfortable place, many names were suggested, but people kept calling it El Muñeco, no matter if it was a farm or a hotel.

That is the reason why the name is “El Muñeco Cabins and Inn". Any citizen will be able to tell you how to get there.
