 The small town of
Puente de Ixtla in the State of Morelos, Mexico
is located at an altitude of 900 mts (2700 ft.) above sea level. Its name derives from
"puente de piedra" or stone bridge. This bridge was built in 1523 to allow
traders coming from
Acapulco to cross with their caravans and can
