Monumento a La Revolucion
. The Monument honouring the
Revolution is found in the center of the Square of the Republic, on Iglesias, Arriaga and
Arizpe streets. It was constructed over the abandoned structure of what was the Palacio
Legislativo (Legislative Palace). Its construction began in1910. This 67-meter monument
has two elevators, one vertical and the other with a curved trayectory.

- La Ciudadela. La Ciudadela, is
located between the Balderas, Martinez and Tolsa streets. This building housed a large
tobacco factory in 1807. It is a Neoclassical-style building with an elegant facade. There
is a plaza with the same name north of it. Nowadays it houses: a library, the Revolution
Studies Center, the Center of Conservation of Artistic Works, and the School of Design.
Only two blocks from here is the Ciudadela Handicrafts Market.
- La Villa de Guadalupe
(The Shrine of Guadalupe). La Villa de Guadalupe,
is situated at the northern extreme of Los Misterios and Guadalupe Avenues, in the
northern part of the city. In its interior there are some buildings such as: the Old
Basilic, the New Basilic, the Museum of Religious Art, the Church of Las Capuchinas, the
Old Parish, the Chapel of El Pocito and the Chapel of the Hill.
