City Tour with
Teotihuacan
Operation: Daily The guide will show and explain the Zocalo (main square) where you will find the National Palace and the Cathedral; afterwards, Bellas Artes Opera and the Latinoamericana tower that survived the 1985 earthquake. Then we will drive northern part of the city to get Teotihucan, where gods, men, heaven and earth met in the mythical past; visit the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon and the impressive Temple of Qetzalcóatl. A stop at the holiest place of Catholic workship in Latin American, the Shrine of Guadalupe, is made on the way back into town. Return directly to your hotel. Lunch

Guadalupe Shrine and Teotihuacan
Operation: Daily You will visit the sacred shrine of the national virgin of Guadalupe on the Hill of Tepeyac, this cathedral was visited several times by the pope John Paul II besides of millions of Christians during pilgrimage. Later on, you can climb the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in Teotihuacan and be amazed by the temple of Quetzalcoatl. Teotihuacan means “The City of the Gods”, or “Where men become gods” in Nahuatl language. You will enjoy free time for taking pictures and do some sightseeing on your own. Return to the city directly to your hotel. |
Tour Xochimilco
Operation: Daily except Monday A typical Sunday Mexican tour, taking a boat ride to through the canals on a “trajinera” surrounded by a floating world of mariachi and marimba music. Coyoacan, an old colonial town which is now incorporated into Mexico City is where we will visit the famed Blue House which Frida Kahlo's father built and her home for most of her life. Then continuation to San Angel a neighborhood famous for its Saturday crafts market (the Bazar del Sabado) where artists and high quality craftsmen sell their wares. |

Close by is Leon Trotsky's house, now a museum. We will also visit Anahuacalli, a museum that Diego built for his collection of pre-Hispanic ceramic pieces which Frida strongly supported.
