In
1927, this municipality emerged from the union
of two villages, Gigedo and
Rosales. Its name not only refers to the brotherhood between these two place s,
but also alludes to the abundant concentration of attributes with which it
is seen. Both nature and the civil buildings make this place, which is
dedicated to agriculture and livestock, the ideal site for a rest.
Among
Villa Union
main attractions are:
-
Temple of the Santo Niño de
los Peyotes,
Built from stone in 1973, it
is said that, in the seventeenth century, the venerated likeness of the
baby Jesus disappeared from its original niche to be found later among the
peyote cactus, which motivated the construction of a chapel for him there.
-
La Luz Park,
Located within an area of
the same name and in the middle of thorny vegetation, this spot feels like
an oasis straight out of a fairytale. Protected by a barrier of enormous
oaks and cypress, its springs are perfect for taking a dip and spending a
few days camping.
