I t
is said the name of this city comes from that fact that it was here that
Miguel Hidalgo officiated mass before being captured and taken to Chihuahua.
Coincidence or not, the effects of the benediction still endure. This locale
still maintains an unspoiled potential to attract industrial investments.
Well-connected with the big cities
and very close to the Frontera International Airport (42 km, 26 miles), its
service infrastructure facilitates the installation of new businesses. Its
population supports them selves through farming, small businesses, and a
budding livestock industry. However, they also take the time to relax in
their spas and echa la casa por la ventana (spend all of their money) at its
October Fair, filed with parades, rodeo, and dances.
