In
memory of Insurgentes Mariano Jimenez, his name was given
to this town in 1875. Protected by the San Diego and Bravo rivers, the
plains of the municipality are fruitful with sorghum, rice, corn and forage.
Its rich vegetation is excellent for enjoying the area, especially in the
Spring and Summer on the shoes of San Diego.
The assembly industry has been
strengthened here, but that does not stop its inhabitants from their times
of rest. They go to the San Miguel Dam - in the congregation of San Carlos -
and the El Centenario Dam - which it shares with Ciudad Acuña - to have fun
fishing Catfish.
Enjoy the peacefulness of this
village, it is something unique, especially when accompanied by a delicious
fritada.
