Every
time you come to this town of yesteryear, founded
in 1869, don’t forget to do the
following: take a deep breath upon entering and then a leisurely stroll
around the streets. Knock on the doors, which are always open; talk with the
people about anything and everything; and attentively observe everything
around you. Finally, during your next visit, definitely take note of one
thing: Escobedo is never the same. The aromas will now seem familiar. You
will no longer need to knock on the doors, nor will you need to see to feel.
If your view previously was filled with the sowing of the beans and corn,
now it will be with oats and squash. If you had the experience of bathing in
the Salado River, now you will have the opportunity to enjoy and cleanse in
the Ojo Caliente de Estación Hermanas spring. Finally, if you only know the
name of the municipality, now you will know the work of the independent
thinker Mariano Escobedo.
