Hidalgo del Parral is situated 301 km. south of Chihuahua City by the federal highway 45, in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico.

The short route for reaching it is the Chihuahua - Satevo - Parral Highway of 222 kms. Hidalgo del Parral was founded in 1631.

Its main attractions are:

  • San Jose Parish church with a baroque-style altar

  • The Alcazar Cinema

  • The old Hidalgo Theater

  • The Stalfurth house, a beautiful building constructed by the French Americo Roubier

  • The General Francisco Villa Museum, which has a library and a great photographic and pictoric repertoire of this revolutionary hero. At the municipal cemetery is found a quarry tombstone that covered his tomb before his remains were transferred to Mexico City.
