La Paz
 

La Paz is the capital City of the State of Baja California Sur, Mexico.

Among its main attractions are:

  • The Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de La Paz, built in the XVIII century

  • The Velazco Garden

  • The Library of the Californias, which offers permanent expositions of rupestrian paintings, the history of the antique missions and information about Southern-Californian personages

  • The Anthropology Museum, where you can see vestiges of the ancient Peninsular inhabitants as well as rupestrian paintings

  • The Agora and its Library and the Historic Archive of the State

At the outskirts you can enjoy its beautiful beaches such as:

  • El Tesoro

  • El Tecolote

  • Balandra

  • Coromuel

  • Caimancito

  • Pichilingue (in the latter is situated the terminal of the Ferry, which offers service to Mazatlan and Topolobampo in the State of Sinaloa).

The typical gastronomy has delicious dishes such as:

  • Shark-fin soup

  • Shrimp broth

  • Fresh shrimp cakes

  • Lobster

  • Dried crumbled fish and

  • Dried beef with egg

This city has a commercial area where you can purchase imported items.
